    People realize since the first UFC came out that this 1980's choreographed fighting is not realistic but its still entertaining

    thank you rick .. gooooood Larry could have cast for Doctor Strange with those kenpo hands like many martial arts the text book training version always looks great, and there is nothing wrong with that. of course the real world may look a lot more chaotic. and of course you might only be successful with the first couple of steps in the combination, but attacking by combination is still one of the best methods.

    No martial art is 100 % effective under adrenaline stress reaction. Gross motor skills can save your butt if you get tunnel vision.

    I am a former Shaolin Kempo Karate practitioner and would have been a yellow belt if I had stayed but no seasoned street thug is gonna let you try this out on them. Yes black bellts have been killed in street fights. Eat your ego and be willing to use techniques from any style without putting yourself in danger

    This guy is a good actor 👏🏾. Noticed how his hands ✋🏾 are always outstretched. He's selling it. This doesn't work in real world fighting.

    This is absurd. I know the Kenpo experts are in astounding condition and do have powerful strikes. I don't think many people are going to be receiving the 3rd strike onward.

    So many f@*^#^ trash talkers kenpo was intended to be used against an attacker in a self-defense situation and can really do serious damage Thats why you dont see it in Mma or Ufc

    Kempo guys love smacking their own Gi's...and doing sound effecst especially when they are receiving the technique and not even really getting hit. LOL so much time spent on an out dated art that doesn't work in today's fighting word.

    What I like about Kenpo is that you smother the attacker with a bunch of strikes to vital areas and it offers you many options to finish the attacker. I believe that the attacker would be finished with the first few strikes, the rest is overkill; but is always good to learn all the options you have. Love the sequential flow of action!

    Demonstrations are always pretty and sometimes impressive. But demonstrations always have the one thing you will NEVER encounter in a real world attack: a cooperative opponent. And always remember: There's no "style" in a real fight. There's only "fight" in a fight!

    A lot of things taught in kenpo can be adjusted or added in. You can basically make up your own techniques, if the kenpo parameters are kept.

    • @Icehso140
      @Icehso140 2 місяці тому

      Yes...we learned that the techniques are just giving us tools for the toolbox to be brought out as we see the position of our attacker change at the moment. From what I was told, a lot of Mr. Parker's techniques were real life confrontations that ended with one strike, and the other moves were added to give students something to learn. I experienced this first hand when I was attacked for real and only got to do the first move of Five Swords.
